The city was built on a hillside with a wonderful view of the Guanajuato mountains. Although, many people from the US have retired in the San Miguel de Allende area, the city offers younger travelers plenty to do and live music can be found nearly every night of the week. With year round comfortable weather, San Miguel de Allende is a pleasant destination any time of year. The surrounding areas offer botanical gardens, natural hot springs and areas for hiking.
