The original structure of Hotel Casa Linda was a 16th centruy meson which housed weary travelers on their way to Mexico City in the 16th and 17th centuries. What you see now is the result of the incredible imagination of the owner, Linda McLaughlin.

An investor from Texas, Linda moved to San Miguel in March of 1994 to learn Spanish. She had only planned on staying here for 6 months but fell under San Miguel’s magical spell. Her first business venture here was to open a bar and restaurant. She was, in fact, the first American woman to open a business in Mexico under the NAFTA agreement, and was quoted in US News and World Report as such. Within 5 months of her arrival, she had purchased the property at Mesones 101. Linda had a vision of what the property could be, and in 1997 began remodeling what was to become Hotel Casa Linda.

Hotel Casa Linda’s renovations were completed in 2001 to make Hotel Casa Linda a first class luxury hotel. Our intimate gardens create a feeling of old world charm accentuated with all the amenities of 21st century living.
